When installing applications, many users face restrictions on their smartphones and tablets. Special problems arise on Xiaomi devices for Android. The user interface restricts background processes and prevents non-standard applications from running.
Some applications do not have an API or documentation. Therefore, the device incorrectly conducts background processing and does not allow specific programs to work correctly.
Today we will explain how to set up your devices to avoid problems when you work with non-custom applications.
App locking
Open the recent applications tray and draw down your app. So, you will block the application. It will continue to work in the background, even if you clear recent apps.
Drag down again to clear your application from the background.
On some devices for this operation, you need to long-press your app and then select the padlock icon from the menu, as shown in the picture below.

Power and Battery Settings
Verify that you have the following settings on your device:
- Settings > Advanced Settings > Battery manager > Power plan is set to Performance
- Device Settings > Advanced Settings > Battery Manager > Protected apps – Your app needs to be Protected
- Device Settings > Apps > Your app > Battery > Power-intensive prompt and Keep running after screen off
- Settings > Additional Settings > Battery & Performance > Manage apps’ battery usage and here:
1. Switch Power Saving Modes to Off
2. Choose the next options: Saving Power in The Background > Choose apps > Select your app > Background Settings > No restrictions
App battery saver
Set the following settings:
Security > Battery > App Battery Saver > Your app > No restriction
Autostart
Open Security app and set the following settings:
Applications > Permissions > Autostart > Your app
